Consumer Warning
A few weeks ago, I posted a review on this business in re: customer service. After discussions with owner, I decided to give a second chance and removed my review. The hay has always been decent and a good price. THAT WILL NOT BE HAPPENING TODAY. Yesterday, after driving over 50 miles to their place of business from my residence, I intended on purchasing Alfalfa, Bermuda and Oat hay. Upon inspection of the Oat hay, I decided what was in stock did not meet my standards, as the bales looked as if they had been through a lot. I then inspected the Bermuda, which I feed to my horses and show livestock. It was very sun dried and showed, in my opinion, not enough green (protien) quality. As one would know, once a grass/alfalfa feed looses its coloring, most of the protien is gone. I chose to purchase 6 bales of their #2 Alfalfa. Upon opening the 1st bale, it basically fell apart. There was absolutely no existence of an actual working flake of hay. Very stemy compared to their previous alfalfa and seems to lack any actual nutritional qualities to be fed to our livestock. ie: barely any leaf, more like leaf dust. This morning, after attempting to feed our livestock with the bale of alfalfa, I decided I would not be feeding the remainder of the 5 bales and contacted the office to inform them that I wanted a refund. No where have I ever seen any policies posted or stated that they only offer exchanges. When I expressed my disappointment with the other hay types they currently had, I was told that she would have to ask permission to give a refund. The cost per bale is not the issue at hand, the issue is a continuation of poor customer service in a current world where that may want to be your MAIN PRIORITY. I am not an individual who is impressed with who you think you are or who you may know, but an actual business woman of many years who takes pride in EXCEPTIONAL customer service for any of our clients. We no longer will promote nor patronize this establishment and will gladly pay a few dollars more per bale to improve the quality we are getting. Word of advice, when a small business can quickly go under these days due to many factors, the last thing you need is to be creating poor reviews, especially with people who are pretty well established themselves in your world.
