Mission Bank opened on October 7, 1998, serving Bakersfield businesses under CEO Richard Fanucchi. With a vision to be Kern County’s business bank of choice, we expanded to Shafter in 2006, supporting local agriculture and businesses. Despite the 2008 financial crisis, Mission Bank thrived without government aid. In 2011, A.J. Antongiovanni became president, and in 2012, we merged with Mojave Desert Bank, growing into Lancaster/Palmdale. Under Antongiovanni, we opened offices in Riverwalk, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Stockton, and Visalia, and established Ag and SBA Divisions.
